Claudette Knight, aka AlexK, is a corporate leader who thoroughly enjoys working in Learning and Organization Development. She has always been interested in learning, ideas, and research and has spent a good deal of time at university, initially completing a BA, BEd, and MA. After 5 years working as an elementary teacher she returned to university to complete an MBA. Upon graduation she began working in the Financial Services Industry and has worked in this sector for the past 15 years.
In 2009 she made the commitment to fulfil a long-held desire to complete her doctorate and enrolled in the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program at Henley Business School. She completed the first stage of her doctorate in 2011, and received her MSc. Her research focuses on leadership in the corporate arena, and she is particularly interested in how gender impacts leadership behaviour and leadership results. She is now in the final stages of her research and plans to defend her thesis in the fall of 2014. So far her doctoral journey has been exceedingly challenging, stimulating, and rewarding!
